Monk Fruit

Monk Fruit... is that what I'm tasting?

The main sweetener in Keto-Snaps is monk fruit (luo han guo). This unique fruit, indigenous to southern China, gets most of its sweet taste from compounds called mogrosides, not glucose and fructose like table sugar does. Mogrosides are 150-200 times sweeter than sugar but have zero calories or carbohydrates.

Numerous studies have found mogrosides to have anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties in addition to their sweetness, but the one slight downside to monk fruit is that some people notice a mild bitter aftertaste in products containing it. However, many people as well find the taste pleasant and less bitter than other zero-calorie sweeteners, especially artificial ones such as saccharin and aspartame.

So give your palate a chance to embrace a new source of sweet; one that can satisfy your sweet cravings and support your health.

Taste is relative and our tongues can be educated, influenced and adaptive. We recommend trying Keto-Snaps more than once to give yourself the chance to become acquainted with this unique sweetening component. Many of our customers have commented that the aftertaste disappeared as their palate adapted.
